Mayo-Hegar Needle Holder, Straight, 16 cm (6 1/4") (item code 19-06342-16). The Mayo-Hegar is the most widely used needle holder in general surgery. Its short, robust jaws carry a fine cross-hatched serration with a longitudinal groove, which seats curved needles firmly and resists rotation as the needle is driven through tissue. A three-position ratchet locks the needle at the chosen pressure, and the wide range of lengths covers everything from skin closure to deep abdominal and pelvic suturing. Manufactured in Sialkot, Pakistan by Instrumed (Pvt. ) Ltd., maker of surgical instruments since 1974. Surgical-grade stainless steel, reusable and autoclavable.
