PARVON INJECTION
Description
Parvon injection is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of theileriosis (east coast fever) caused by Theileriaparva, T. Annulata, T. Mutans and T. Orientalis in small and large animals. Theileriosis is a protozoal disease which is transmitted by ticks. Theileriasporozoites are transmitted to susceptible animals by the saliva of feeding ticks. Inside host, theileriasporozoites undergo a complex life cycle involving the replication of schizont in leukocytes and piroplasms in erythrocytes. This process eventually leads to swelling of lymph nodes and raise the body temperature
up to 42. C in the infection.
Parvon injection is effective against both the schizont and piroplasm stages of theileria species and may be used in incubation period or when the clinical signs of disease are apparent.
